One year back something terrible happened to me. Due to my work I had to sit back late. By around 11:00 pm, I came to my bus stop and just needed to walk 500 meters to reach home. Within 100 m from my home, I heard a barking sound. I just stopped and looked to my left. What I saw was a pack of dogs. It also had a leader which looked ferocious enough to scare me. I started moving slowly towards my home without making any noise. These dogs started picking up scents. Then something diverted their attention. I then took the next cross street and ran towards home. I know I could have been bitten or probably mauled by these dogs. Because it was so late, my case would have been terrible. But I escaped. Every one can’t escape the same. That’s how they fall victim to bites and sad fully deaths.
The incident (about the girl) above has resulted in some action. According to officials they caught some 80 dogs from City Market area on the first day itself and 120 dogs later. They also admit that there are over 5000 stray dogs (the figures are only per the official count – what about unofficial count). The reason they site is that as per the Animal Control Act, an animal can be caught only if it causes violence and damage to humans and materials. This is outrageous. The dogs roaming in
